Introducing Cyber Clubs
In today’s technologically advanced environment, we often find ourselves connecting with others through the Internet. Recognizing this fact, GFWC is making way for a new type of club – the cyber club. The club is organized just like other GFWC clubs, but the difference is how they meet. By using electronic mediums such as Skype, Facebook, email and conferencing, members can participate and contribute although they may be unable to attend in person. An established club may also have “cyber members,” which allows members to remain an active member of the club.
Think about the possibilities! Perhaps those Juniorette members who have gone off to college from your local high school could start a cyber club? Members who have moved or have family obligations could remain active with their club?
Should you have an interest in learning more about cyber clubs, GFWC has provided a fact sheet and sample bylaws for a cyber club - click here to see. More detailed information is available on the GFWC website in the GFWC Club Manual - see the Membership Advancement Guide section. If you have questions or are interested in starting a cyber club, please contact us today. Remember, every member is a part of our GFWC-NC puzzle!
